No arrests as police seek group of males seen in road before incident in Mitcham
An 11-year-old child and a woman have been injured in a suspected shooting in south-west London.
Police said the pair had been taken to hospital after reports that a gun had been fired at 5.40pm on Sunday in Figges Marsh, Mitcham. They are not in a life-threatening condition.

An exultant Donald Trump declared a political victory and himself vindicated on Sunday, after the special counsel found that his election campaign did not collude with Russia.
Donald Trump is claiming ‘complete and total exoneration’ following the release of a summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report into collusion with Russia. The president spoke before boarding Air Force One to return to Washington from Florida on Sunday afternoon. The Justice Department said that Mueller’s investigation did not find evidence that Trump’s campaign ‘conspired or coordinated’ with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election. Mueller also investigated whether Trump obstructed justice, but did not come to a definitive answer

High-stakes Chequers summit breaks up without agreement
Theresa May’s prospects of getting her Brexit deal through parliament this week dramatically receded on Sunday night after a high-stakes summit with Boris Johnson and other leading hard-Brexiters at her country retreat broke up without agreement.
Tory rebels present said that the prime minister repeated “all the same lines” about her deal and that nothing new emerged during the three-hour meeting, where Jacob Rees-Mogg, Iain Duncan Smith and Dominic Raab were also present.
